Excerpts from the 2015 District of West Vancouver media release:
Reconstruction of Hollyburn Lodge began in spring 2015, with a targeted opening of the
2015-16 ski season. It will likely reopen in January 2017. Cypress Mountain general manager Bobby Swain and his team have been working with the Hollyburn Heritage Society for over 15 years to consolidate the funding model for the renewal of historic First Lake site. Through this partnership, Cypress will retain the asset on their park use permit, and the Cypress Mountain ownership group, CNL Lifestyle Properties will contribute the majority of the capital required to rebuild the facility. The present budget for the restoration sits at $800,000 with further fundraising by both the District and Cypress underway to ensure that the lodge captures the feel of the past and the required features of the present. Hollyburn Ridge Association, in collaboration with the West Vancouver Community Foundation are supporting fundraising efforts.
